Before Care for Central Charter School


The City of Pembroke Pines Early Development Center Central Campus will provide Before Care from 6:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. for the students of the Charter Elementary and Middle Schools every morning school is in session. Before Care will be held in the middle school cafeteria.

The cost of Before Care is due on the dates shown on page two of the Before Care Flyer. There is no adjustment of the monthly fee when our program is closed due to a legal holiday, in the event of a natural disaster or any other circumstances that may arise beyond our control. You will not be charged, however, when the Charter School is closed for teacher work days, winter, spring and summer breaks. We will run Mini Camps for K thru 4th Grade those days.

Space in Before Care is limited, and based on a first-paid, first served basis. Please print out the Before Care packet, complete it and return to the Early Development Center, 12200 Sheridan Street, along with your registration fee. All checks should be made payable to the City of Pembroke Pines. NO forms or cash payments will be accepted in the Before Care cafeteria.

You cannot attend Before Care on a DAY BY DAY BASIS! You need to register your child in Before Care in order for him/her to attend Before Care. No daily drop offs permitted!.

  • Kindergarten through Fourth Grade

    The City of Pembroke Pines Early Development Center Central Campus will provide mini camp for the teacher work days and winter, spring and summer vacations. All mini camps will be held in the charter elementary school cafeteria.

    All checks should be made payable to the City of Pembroke Pines. No forms or cash payments will be accepted in the cafeteria.

Camp

The City of Pembroke Pines Early Development Center (EDC) Central Campus offers children ages 2 thru 10 a unique, fun-filled summer experience in a safe, secure, and loving environment. Our staff has been carefully selected. They are caring, mature, well-trained people who are sensitive to the needs of young children.

Activities

In addition to camp counselors, our programs will have specialists who will provide your child with a summer filled with age-appropriate activities including:
  • Arts and crafts
  • Computers
  • Cool cooking
  • Drama
  • Gym
  • Music and Dance
  • Science
  • Sports
  • Summer Reading Program (K - 4th)
  • Theme days
  • Water play
  • Swimming ( 3s, junior kindergarten- fourth graders)
To enhance the camp experience, special programs and field trips are planned throughout the summer for kindergarten thru fourth graders.
